6 Hours Max in School Policy issued by education CS Ezekiel Machogu is sparking outrage among parents and teachers. A majority of Kenyans are yet to understand a raft of related changes in the Ministry of Education.

Schools will now teach between Monday and Friday, at most six hours per day. As such, remedial classes and make-up lessons will no longer hold.
CS Machogu Orders 6 Hours Max School Policy
In the proposed change of school timetable are severely stripped tuition hours. As a result, learners will now attend classes between 8:00 am and 3:45 pm.

In between the proposed learning hours will be a mandatory one-hour lunch break.
The Ministry of Education insists that Kenyan students should be allowed to study in a relaxed environment as their counterparts in Finland.
Furthermore, the ministry is seeking to replicate the education after the ones found in first-world countries.
“You will meet students walking on the streets very early in the morning, heading to school for remedial lessons. I have seen some buses ferrying students at 10 pm as they head back home. We will not allow that.”

The vocal CS also reasoned that imposed education is stressful and consequential in the mental health of differently talented learners.
The dream of adopting a world-class system of the education system is not without resistance.
So far, the majority of Kenyan parents and teachers are at a standoff citing the impracticality of the system in Kenyan society.

CS Machogu says the 6 Hours Max School Policy is all about equipping young Kenyan minds with a competitive edge at the global level. School heads are expected to supervise the scrapping of preps and remedial classes.
