The Director of Criminal Investigation on Sunday confirmed the recovery of Ksh. 9.1 million linked to the Ksh. 94 million lumpsum stolen from Quickmart Supermarket. Key suspects are still on the run amid the ongoing Quickmart heist arrests are ongoing with key suspects on the run.

Intelligence involving multiple security teams is expected to arrest even more suspects in connection with the grand theft.
Quickmart Heist Arrests hit 4 in counting
Known employees of Wells Fargo Company allegedly stole Ksh. 94.9 million while in transit from Quickmart supermarket to Family Bank.

Reports filed at Akila Police Station indicate that the November 6th incident happened in broad daylight.
So far, the owner and driver of the escort van, Mr. Ismael Patrick Gitonga, is in police custody.

“He was arrested within Rongai area and the motor vehicle traced to Njiru within Kayole.”

Two more suspects, Samwel Onyango and Michael Matolo Njeru were arrested at a garage while attempting to modify and conceal the ill-fated Wells Fargo car.

The fourth suspect in possession of Ksh. 9.1 million stacked in a jerrican, was arrested at the Kasarani, within the vicinity of the TRM area.

“A further recovery of an empty cash box was made within the forest next to Gataka market in Karen where the stolen cash is believed to have been shared by the suspects.”
