History of Dedan Kimathi University Since 1972: From a Constituent of JKUAT to the Chartered DeKUT

Dedan Kimathi University of Technology popularly called DeKUT is a public higher learning institution located in Nyeri, Kenya. At first a technical institute, it is now a full-fledged campus. The history of Dedan Kimathi University dates back to the early 70s.

The university is named after Dedan Kimathi, a prominent freedom fighter and leader in the Mau Mau uprising against British colonial rule in Kenya.
