President Ruto’s near fall experience is a conversation starter across the political divide. The head of state narrowly escaped a downfall while plating tree seedlings at Kiu Wetland in Makueni County.

The unexpected tumble and quick retraction into position sparked unexpected laughter among members of the public present. On the other hand, security officers were alarmed to the jaw.

On regaining control, Ruto reassured the shocked onlookers that he was fine.

He calmed swift security officers with a light joke;

Dignitaries present in the plating of about 150,000 trees include spouse Rachel Ruto, deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, and second lady Dorcas Rigathi.

The tree-planting exercise came within days of the government declaring Climate Change a national disaster.

President Ruto’s near fall experience aside, it was a successful day marked with millions of trees planted across the country.
