Unable to join the Catholic University because of a lack of School fees, Njugush proceeded to the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC).

Career background

Njugush attended his first audition at the Kenya National Theatre within three days of completing his KCSE exams. While at KIMC, he became the host of a reggae show on ECN that belongs to the institution.

He was also part of the drama club that saw him crossing paths with renowned Tahidi High actors Abel Mutua, and OJ alias Dennis Mugo.

The father of Njuguna is a long-serving reverend stationed in Meru County. On the other hand, his mother is a business lady. One of his younger siblings, Ngugi Ndegwah, is an alumna of Maseno University where he studied sociology. Unlike his brother, Ngugi is a determined poet, scriptwriter, actor, and author of the book “Across and Beyond.”
