Director Koch Meroka who recently worked as a deputy principal at Getuki Mixed Secondary School is dead.
The veteran Kiswahili/Fasihi teacher, previously posted at Bombaba Secondary School, succumbed to a long term illness.

Family members say long-term sickness caused the sudden death of Robert Koch Meroka.
Sadly, Koch Meroka died on Sunday, 17th, still hospitalised at the Kisumu based Aga Khan Hospital.
His only daughter Rehema Moraa eulogised with an emotional social media post that has since attracted a massive response.
Facebook posts from close relatives and friends indicate he had accumulated a hospital bill of at least Ksh. 1 million as of April 17, 2022.
“Director Koch Meroka has been admitted at AGhaKhan Hospital Kisumu since last week and the bills as per 14th April had accumulated to a total of Ksh. 1,000,740. Bobasi Constituency Aspiring Member of Parliament Hon Yobesh Onwong’a Oyaro is among the dignitaries who have registered their condolence messages.

Bio: Who was Robert Koch Meroka?
Koch started his career as Teacher Service Commission registered high school teacher with a speciality in Kiswahili & Fasihi studies.

He would soon venture into business in a bid to chisel additional income. Most importantly, he was a senior church leader.
In April 2021, Koch became a director at the Nyamache Factory Company Limited.
Apart from representing Bogetario Zone in KTDA affairs, Meroka peaked as an events MC and a humorous public speaker.

The late Koch Meroka died at the age of 57 years.
He left behind a beautiful wife Jane Mogere and three children among them Joshua Oichoe, Rehema Moraa, and Zedekiah Maseme alias Omosae Omonda.
Funeral and burial arrangements ended well on Monday, May 2nd, 2022 at his ancestral home in Nyantira Village, Nyamache Sub County, Kisii County.
