DP Gachagua Disappoints JKUAT Graduates in a Rough Commencement Speech on Unemployment in Kenya

“Gachagua Disappoints JKUAT Graduates” is among the latest reports pointing to the worsening unemployment rates in the country. The ‘Truthful’ second in command boldly spoke about joblessness while presiding over a graduation ceremony at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology on June 23, 2023.

The commencement speech also provided him with an opportunity to promote the controversial Housing Fund, which he hopes will solve the crisis.

Gachagua insisted that graduates will benefit most from the underway housing fund.

Among other things, he spoke of hard work, creativity, and innovation as being central to wealth creation.

“Your parents were not employed by anybody, 70 per cent of them but through hard work, creative and innovative thinking they have seen you through to university, you are ten times better than your parents.

At least you have an analytical mind, better communication skills, you are able to reach out and be creative and innovative. I want you to have a positive attitude.”

He went on to introduce himself as a practical politician, not given lies.

“I am an honest man, I don’t want to sit here and lie to you that we have jobs for you, these jobs we are going to create together with you.

This is a University of Science and Technology our MPs aggressively passed the Finance Bill, 2023 to create the Housing Fund.”

He assured everyone that JKUAT is among the higher learning institutions that will benefit the most from Housing Fund.

Awaiting implementation, Gachagua encouraged graduates to embrace positive thinking and patience in everything they do.
