Man Stabbed to Death in Kirinyaga – DCI Exposes Key Challenges Facing Security in Kenya

Residents of Togonye Village in Kirinyaga County woke up into a shock after a body of man stabbed to death was found dumped by the roadside.  The Monday morning incident happened on April 17, 2023. According to his brother Fidelis Njiru, the deceased was returning home from the market when he met his death.

Talking at the incident, Mwea East Sub County Police Commander Daniel Kitavi said investigations are underway. He further asked residents and family members to cooperate with the police.

Relatives described Nyaga as a quiet person and expressed their frustration to the incident.

They urged those in authority to hasten investigations and bring culprits into book.

“I was shocked when I learnt of the demise of my brother. We would like to know who killed him and the motive behind this heinous act.”

The body was taken to Kibugi Funeral Home. Elsewhere, cases of manslaughter are on the rise across the country for among other reasons property and love related conflicts.

In the past week, a reveller was stabbed to death in Kisii. In another incident, deputy principal Thomson Ndege, lost his life in a suspected love triangle.

The latest case of a man stabbed to death in Kirinyaga brings into light related cases of deliberate killings that do not often receive deserved attention for proper security action.
