Upon releasing KCPE exams 2021, CS Magoha gave out a blend of sweet and bitter remarks. Outstanding is a special list of the most improved primary schools with enrolment of at least 50 candidates.

The latest KCPE newsmakers include best performers and top schools. These include those that broke the record in raising their mean scores.

The 8 most improved primary schools

The Ministry of Education maintains that 2021 KCPE results are better than those recorded in 2020.

Schools that surpassed their 2020 grades by a greater margin include the following.

1. Coast Region: Kambi Ya Waya Primary School

  • 2021: 266 marks
  • 2020: 203 marks

2. Central Region: Njenga Karume Primary School

  • 2021: 248 marks
  • 2020: 207 marks

3. Eastern Region: Ngukuini Primary School 

  • 2021: 250 marks
  • 2020: 165 marks

4. Nairobi Region: Cheleta Primary School

  • 2021: 263 marks
  • 2020: 213 marks

5. Rift Valley Region: Lenkishon Primary School

  • 2021: 272 marks
  • 2020: 198 marks

6. Western Region: Kewa DEB Primary School

  • 2021: 284 marks
  • 2020: 216 marks

7. Nyanza Region: Nyangiti Primary School

  • 2021: 232 marks
  • 2020: 170 marks

8. North Eastern Region: Mandera DEB Primary School  

  • 2021: 270 marks
  • 2020: 181 marks

Magoha maintains the exams were duly transparent and fair to all learners.
