Ogolla who died on Thursday, April 18, 2024, was buried on the immediate Sunday, per his will, requiring burial within 72 hours.

Ogolla and his wife Aileen were blessed with a couple of children, among them a son and daughter. Their only daughter is called Lorna Omondi Ogolla and their son Joel Omondi Rabuku.

Tributes from the duo reveal a loving dad who always sacrificed it all for his loved ones. Lorna had this to say about her dad.

“My father. Pursuer of excellence. The most empathetic and effective leader and statesman died in a chopper crash in West Pokot. Doing what he did best for the better part of the last 40 years – trying to keep Kenya safe.”

“General is in a good place. I got to see him yesterday and today as I was going to get his belongings. Those of you who know General and his sister Peris, they had a cheeky smile and I can tell you that he is resting right now with a cheeky smile on his face…msivurute sura sana na yeye in death anashangaa what is the issue. It is going to be well for us.”
