Heated Finance Bill Threats: President Ruto & DP Gachagua Impose Controversial Budget on Kenyans

  • Post author:

President William Ruto and DP Rigathi Gachagua are making headlines for allegedly coercing parliamentarians into favouritism. ‘Heated Finance Bill threats’ are raising mixed reactions among Kenyans.

Oppositions are afraid that Members of Parliament may end up passing the controversial Finance Bill on grounds of goodwill to the UDA Regime as opposed to the wishes of their constituents.

Ruto-Gachagua heated Finance Bill threats

President William Ruto and Deputy Rigathi Gachagua are on record for threatening those opposed to the proposed Finance Bill 2023.

The commander-in-chief has vowed to fight against anyone who will go against the bill.

“I am waiting to see the MPs who will go against the government’s plan to give their voters employment. We want to see and know those going against this Finance Bill.

As a leader, you are already getting a mortgage due to the taxes paid by the people of Kenya. Why would you deny these young people that opportunity? Is it not right for us to know who will vote against the bill?

Those who are rejecting the bill are only doing so because they had been voted in those leadership positions by the people. I am waiting to hear their explanation of why they will vote against it. How can we agree during elections that housing will create jobs and other opportunities, but when it comes to implementation, we betray our people?”

President William Ruto.

On his side, the embattled Rigathi is also headstrong in promoting the underway Financial Bill.

“There is a lot of incitement around this whole Finance Bill issue. I was in Kitui yesterday and their MP spoke about cessation and people were clapping. And then soon after he was telling me they need roads, where does he expect the money to build roads to come from?”

DP Rigathi Gachagua.

Kenyans decry that their will may not be taken into account as much as necessary.

Even so, a majority are still ignorant of what the bill is all about.

National Treasury CS, Njuguna Ndung’u, is scheduled to present the Budget, otherwise called the Finance Bill, on June 15, 2023.

Thereupon, parliaments from across the political divide will commence tough engagements.

Heated Finance Bill threats from President Ruto and DP Gachagua are expected to influence votes by a huge margin should the opposition delay claiming its place in the House.
