Close family members and friends joined Ida Odinga birthday celebration at the Villa Rosa Kempinski on Wednesday, August 24, 2023. Raila’s wife Ida turned 73 years old in a stylish cake-cutting event.
Dignitaries present were Siaya Governor James Orengo, Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua, and Likoni MP Mishi Mboko.
Ida and her daughter Rosemary stole the day with a hammer ride. Other family members who graced the occasion include Winnies and Raila Junior.
Even better, Raila Junior’s kid was also celebrating her birthday alongside granny.
Guest performers for the highly publicized near-midnight event included Esther Akoth Akothee and Prince Indah.
The birthday party which started at 6 pm ended with the former prime minister portraying Ida as a true lover and pillar in his lifetime.

Winnie Odinga who is an MP at the East African Legislative Assembly gifted her mother Ksh. 1 million courtesy of Ida Odinga Library which is under construction.
The Ksh. 350 million facility at Ogande Girls in Homa Bay County is reportedly in its final stages.
Winnie proceeded to hint at a possible renewal of vows for Raila and Ida.
“A year ago this place would have been packed to the end but we prefer it this way (small group) because these are the real ones. This is just the beginning and we are encouraging them to do another wedding in December.
We encourage their friend to push them to mark it.”
