Arrested in Mombasa County alongside 10 others, Mrs Nyakakang’o was arraigned in Mombasa Law Court on December 5, 2023.

Presented before the chief magistrate are four counts to which she pleaded not guilty.
In the end, she was released on a Ksh. 2 million bond with the option of a similar surety of Ksh 500,000 cash.

In January 2019, she began a new career as a lecturer at KCA University where she served for a year.
