Naivasha Accident Today Photos: 6 Students Die, 7 Injured as Matatu Lorry Collide In Delamare

Naivasha Accident today photos are heart-wrecking with at least six young female students confirmed dead. Seven others narrowly escaped death with severe injuries.

The grisly accident occurred nearby Delamare Estate in Naivasha, along the busy Nakuru-Nairobi Highway.

Eye witnesses say the matatu involved in the accident was overlapping traffic before it collided with an oncoming lorry.

Confirming the incident, Naivasha sub-county police commander Emmanuel Bowen said the 7 survivors were rushed to Naivasha Sub-county Hospital.

Among those who succumbed on the spot are 6 Mbihi Friends Girls High School students who were travelling from Western Kenya to Nairobi for April Holidays.

Scattered books, shoes, school bags, and other personal materials caused a horrific scene with traffic jam holding still for hours.

Mau Summit accident

The Naivasha accident comes with hours of four people losing their lives at Mau Summit.

Police say the Tahmed Bus which was travelling from Kisumu to Nakuru landed in a ditch in an attempt to avert a head-on collision with an approaching Lorry.

Among those who died on the spot are pedestrian students who were attempting to cross the road.

Cases of students losing lives on Kenyan roads are commonplace since 17 students and staff members of Pwani University lost their lives at Kayole Bridge in Naivasha.

The Naivasha accident today photos are worrisome even as Kenyans decry worsening road safety.
