Abel Mutua Musyoka biography

Storyteller Abel Mutua was born in Pumwani Maternity Hospital on August 28, 1986, making his 38 years old as of 2024. 

Sadly, his father abandoned them at Umoja 1 Estate in 1991.

Abel recalls moving to Kayole Estate and back to Umoja amid survival struggles with his mother and siblings.

In 1997, the distressed family relocated to the Ministry of Works Government houses along Karanja Road in Kibera. Luckily, his mother remarried.

Even as life was dimming, Abel’s childhood was brightened by a beautiful sweetheart, Milkah.

After spending years in Kibera, Abel and his close friend Philip Karanja relocated to Pangani Estate in 2008.

In 2012, Abel moved the entire family to Thindigua, along Kiambu Road.

Joining KIMC drama club dubbed The Power House exposed Mutua to a world of opportunities.

Citizen TV eventually spotted him for a role “Freddie” in Tahidi High, on emerging the best during the National Drama competitions.

The biological father of Abel Mutua is a resident of Delaware in the United States of America; formerly an Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC) officer in Kenya.

Unfortunately, he abandoned the family in the early 90s.

Abel Mutua’s mother, Stephanie Mumbua, worked as a casual laborer in the Ministry of Agriculture, Kilimo House. She passed on in 2009.

In 2010, Mutua married Judy Nyawira and had a daughter, Stephanie Mumbua, in memory of her deceased mom. Stephanie is now 13 years old.

Mutua comes from a family of 7 siblings among them one brother and another half brother. He also has 4 step brothers and a step sister.
