How is Gachagua Related to Moi Family? Most Hilarious Childhood Photo

Kenya’s second in command, Rigathi Gachagua, is one of the most controversial politicians from the Nyayo era. A rare photo taken in childhood continues to raise concerns about his ancestry and biological parents. How is Gachagua related to Moi Family?

Gachagua’s ancestry has previously been challenged with speculations that Mzee Nahashon Gachagua Reriani and Mama Martha Kirigo are not his biological parents.

How is Gachagua Related to Moi Family?

A connection with the president started when Gachagua was leading the Nyeri District University Students Association (NDUSA) at the University of Nairobi.

The role offered him an opportunity to cross paths with his spouse Pastor Dorcas Wanjiku while planning for a presidential event.

The second lady had this to say in a recent interview with Rev Kathy Kyuna of the Woman Without Limits program.

“Every district had a district union and so at that time it was Nyeri Union that was going, and I don’t know what he was doing at the Kenyatta University because it was my friend who came to get me,” she explained.

“I was not imagining getting married because I wanted to take care of my mother. It never registered in mind but I thought he was interesting.”

Born in 1965 at Hiriga village in Nyeri County, the 59 years old Gachagua is an eight born, younger brother to the now deceased former governor of Nyeri County, Nderitu Gachagua

It is evident that DP Gachagua is not related to the Moi Family as alleged; neither is he a son of former President Daniel Arap Moi.
