While addressing the nation, opposition leader Raila Odinga emphasized that Francis Atwoli is no longer defending Kenyan workers as much as he did before.

The Monday Press Conference staged by ODM leader Raila Odinga zoomed into critical issues facing Kenyan hustlers.
He particularly accused the head of state on among other issues hiked tax rates and non-performance.
“Workers movement has gone to bed with this regime. Kenyan workers are now on their own.”

The strong statement came within weeks of losing his right-hand man Francis Atwoli to the ruling UDA Party.
Once a fierce critic, Atwoli is now a political friend to President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua.
In his defence, Atwoli said working with the government of the day is crucial in championing the welfare of workers.
“As a leader sitting on the board of many international labour agencies, I am obliged to brief the President on whatever is discussed and their outcome.”
