In 1983, Kuria completed his O-level exams at the Githuya Primary School in Gatundu. He would sit for high school exams at Ituru Secondary School in 1987.

Thereafter, in 1993, Moses Kuria graduated from the prestigious University of Nairobi with a bachelor’s degree in Commerce.

While at the institution, Kuria served as a treasurer of the Students Organization of Nairobi University (SONU).

The UoN student council would prepare him for an early entry into national politics.

He came into the limelight in 2014 on succeeding the deceased Gatundu South MP, Hon. Jossy Ngugi. He was re-elected in 2017 and in 2021, pioneered the Chama Cha Kazi party.

On losing the 2022 Kiambu County gubernatorial race to Kimani Wamatangi, Moses Kuria was appointed Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry.
