1. Caroline Ongeri – a professional engineer

Prof Sam Ongeri daughter Caroline is a Kenyan based engineer. She is a firstborn aged about 50 years of age.

Well-placed sources indicate that she was formerly a board member of Kenya’s Institute of Education in Democracy.

Notably, Caroline is a deputy managing director of the Lake Turkana Wind Power Project.

2. Nyagaka Ongeri – seasoned Wall Street tycoon

The biography of businessman Nyagaka Ongeri points out that he is a New York based tycoon banker with diverse investments in Wall Street.

That said, Nyagaka Ongeri is by far the senior-most Kenyan born Wall Street banker.

Besides, Nyagaka is a managing director in charge of Global Corporates at Barclays International.

Nyagaka is an alumna of St Mary’s School alongside Jeff Koinange and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ongeri’s son is lately an MBA holder from Harvard Business School.

In 2011, photos of Nyagaka Ongeri wedding Eva surfaced on the internet; it was indeed a pomp and colour marriage ceremony.  

Nyagaka with experience of 18 years in Barclays International is also a board member in AMREF Health Africa USA.

3. Dr Sylvia Ongeri of Kenyatta National Hospital

Doctor Sylvia is the favourite daughter of Prof Sam Ongeri. She schooled at Loreto Convent and thereafter Baraton University.

 She later enrolled at the University of Toronto in Canada. Ongeri Sylvia has since returned to Kenya.

Like his father Ongeri and mother Elizabeth, Sylvia is a career dentist at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

4. Fiona Ongeri – Prof Sam Ongeri lastborn

Ongeri’s lastborn daughter Fiona is a BSc. Pharmaceutical and Chemical Science graduate from Brighton University in the United Kingdom.

In addition, she is a Masters’ degree holder in Chemistry from the University of Texas.

Fiona who is married to Vincent Aberi – started her career at Baylor College of Medicine as a Sequencing Team Manager. She is presently living and working in Kenya.

Prof Sam Ongeri children are highly travelled and well-grounded in various careers. Their service to humanity is particularly touching to most Kenyans. Even more so, Ongeri must be proud of them in his retirement years.
